About the Project

The Year of Local is a collection of stories about people in Sarnia-Lambton that is meant to inspire the community to support the local businesses, events and organizations that make our community unique.

We believe that supporting local businesses and community organizations is important and necessary for the continued growth and prosperity of our region. Local independent businesses play an important role in our economy and help define our local identity.

Each week Year of Local conducts interviews with local business owners and community leaders to share on our homepage, in our weekly email and on social media. Ultimately we will be sharing this project by creating an amazing hardcover book featuring these stories.

By sharing our local stories, we inspire a shared sense of community pride in Sarnia-Lambton and ensure the future success of our local businesses and community organizations.

The best way of keeping up to date on Year of Local is by signing up for the newsletter here.
